Think I'm alternating good sleep days and bad, today was bad, I don't know how much was hypochondria and how much was real but kept feeling feverish and like my throat felt weird and just felt like the night dragged and dragged, doubt I slept much
-
Not feeling 100% but I'm stubborn so let's see if this is just he tail end of whatever hit us or a much less conveniently timed escalation.
-
Unrelated waking up to the highlights from the US debate feels so weird, really makes the time difference pop
-
Finally heading out, popped some meds and left our bags at the hotel, really a very nice hotel and quite central. Will go to get breakfast and coffee somewhere and take it easy
-
Decided to do he hop on bus after some Caffe Nero and pastries to kill time
-
Stopped at the cathedral again but this time saw a bit more of it with Farah, it really is stunning for such an old building (at least in parts)
-
This time got to go up the Necropolis next to it which was quite a view, also pretty crazy how rich people of the time built such elaborate memorials, it would have been a really great green space
-
The next bus we caught is a live guide, maybe a bit more animated than the recordings this time
-
Some shots while en route, last one means to do something in a lively way
-
Stopped to explore the Kelvingrove Art Galleries, they were pretty neat and we got there just as an organ performance was starting, never knew how much the feet were doing during one
-
Some shots of the outside, love the architecture here
-
It had some cool exhibits and a lot of Scottish/Glasgow specific art and exhibits, really vibes with this style
-
Also enjoyed these, reminded me a bit of the Okuyama Tamie art in Onomichi but a bit less abstract
-
Some other ones I likes from different exhibits
-
Back on the bus, view of the University of Glasgow which we'd planned to walk to but on account of sick and waning energy heading back to eat, buy some supplies and heading to Milngavie
-
Big recommend this place near our hotel for taste and value for money, good pies and fairly cheap
-
After that went shopping for some last minute gear like smidge (repellant) for the midges, a couple more pieces of gear just in case and a different decongestant for sleeping... Now in a cab to the first hotel not the hike, the starting point...
-
Got to the hotel, it's a cute little thing, was in a downward energy trend after I got here but some meds helped, I did last until like 5pm on one dose which should be enough for tomorrow if you take into account hopefully my body fighting it off a bit
-
Tomorrow breakfast is at 7:15 and bag drop off at 8 after which we're off to Drymen which is around 20km away. This is the full route but tomorrow we're only doing the last pic
